Cell Phone Recycling Drive

We're going to hold a cell phone recycling drive in conjunction with Just Doubles.

The cell phones will be erased and programmed for 911 emergency use only by victims of domestic violence.  We will designate which shelter(s) in the Triangle the cell phones will be donated to. 

The name of the organization we'll be using is Cell Phones For Life.  They accept all phones, with or without chargers, and will arrange for free shipping of the phones.  They will also provide a tax deduction form for everyone that donates a phone.  The website address is http://cellphonesforlife.org/index.html.

So the benefits are twofold - we will be recycling which will keep many hazardous materials out of landfills, soil, and groundwater; and we'll also be helping victims of domestic violence.
